AbstractEnlarged parietal foramina are ossification defects in the parietal bones caused by genetic mutations. In contrast to the normal small parietal foramina which are common variants of the parietal bones, enlarged parietal foramina are a rare hereditary pathology. Most of the cases are asymptomatic. However; they may be symptomatic especially when they present with other lesions such as venous abnormalities, cortical malformations, cleft palate, myelomeningocele and encephalocele. Therefore; it is important to investigate associated abnormalities in the proper management of these patients. Imaging with different modalities plays a critical role in the diagnosis of enlarged parietal foramina and accompanying pathologies. In this case report; a patient with enlarged parietal foramina associated with persistent falcine sinus and choroid plexus calcifications will be presented. |

ÖzetGenişlemiş parietal foramenler; parietal kemiklerde genetik mutasyonlar ile ortaya çıkan kemikleşme defektleridir. Parietal kemiklerin sık varyantlarından olan normal küçük paryetel foramenlerin aksine genişlemiş paryetel foramenler nadir görülen kalıtımsal bir patolojidir. Olgular çoğunlukla asemptomatiktir. Ancak özellikle venöz anomaliler, kortikal malformasyonlar, yarık damak, miyelomeningosel ve ensefalosel gibi lezyonlar ile birliktelik gösterdiklerinde semptomatik olabilmektedirler. Bu nedenle hastaların doğru yönetilmesi için eşlik eden anomalilerin araştırılması önem kazanmaktadır. Farklı modaliteler kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen görüntüleme işlemleri genişlemiş paryetel foramenlerin ve eşlik eden patolojilerin ortaya konmasında kritik bir role sahiptir. Bu olgu sunumunda genişlemiş paryetel foramenlere eşlik eden persistan falsin sinüs ve koroid pleksus kalsifikasyonları bulunan bir hasta sunulacaktır. |
