AbstractAcute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a non-cardiogenic acute respiratory failure disorder which equally affects both the lungs, characterized by diffuse infiltration and unresponsive to oxygen therapy. Most of the deaths due to ARDS occur within the first 2-3 weeks, while earlier deaths resulted from the underlying primary disease. Pathophysiological changes occurring in the lung don?t differ, regardless ARDS is pulmonary or extrapulmonary. Exudative phase may be encountered as obscure and complex manifestation within the first 24 hours and may shift to the fibroproliferative phase in 7-10 days. We presented a case of ARDS developed due to insect bite, which is rarely observed and occurred within the first 24 hours. |

ÖzetAkut respiratuar distres sendromu (ARDS) her iki akciğeri de eşit etkileyen, nonkardiyojenik, diffüz infiltrasyonla karakterize, oksijen tedavisine cevap vermeyen akut solunum yetmezliği bozukluğudur. ARDS?ye bağlı ölümlerin çoğu ilk 2-3 hafta içinde olur, daha erken ölümler altta yatan primer hastalıkla ilgilidir. ARDS?de ister pulmoner olsun ister ekstrapulmoner olsun, akciğerde oluşan patofizyolojik değişiklikler farklılık göstermez. İlk 24 saatteki eksudatif faz bazen silik ve karışık tablo ile karşımıza çıkabilir ve sonraki 7-10. günlerde fibroproliferatif faza geçebilir. Nadir gözlenen ekstrapulmoner nedenlerden olan böcek ısırmasına bağlı gelişen ve ilk 24 saatte oluşan ARDS olgusunu sunmak istedik. |
