AbstractSoft tissue infection following invasive medical procedures is a common complication encountered clinically. Lumbar puncture is an invasive procedure that has the risk of causing soft tissue infection. In this case we report a patient who underwent LP and had abscess formation in the paraspinal soft tissue at L3-L4 level. Abscess progressed to posterior ligament and thus appeared as herniation in the magnetic resonance imaging. It is therefore important to sterilize the environment, materials and the skin before performing LP so as the minimize infection risk. |

ÖzetKlinik pratikte tıbbi girişim sonrası yumuşak doku enfeksiyonları seyrek olmayan komplikasyonlardır. Lomber ponksiyonlar (LP) da invaziv girişimler olması nedeniyle yumuşak doku enfeksiyonu riski taşırlar. Bu vakada LP sonrası L3-L4 hizasında paraspinal dokuda apse oluşmuştur. Manyetik rezonans incelemede enfeksiyon bölgesindeki apse, posterior ligamana ilerleyerek herni görüntüsü meydana getirmiştir. LP girişimi sırasında kullanılacak materyallerin, ortamın ve derinin sterilizasyonu enfeksiyon riskini en aza indirecektir. |
