AbstractRetropharyngeal abscesses commonly develop in infants and small children, and are associated with the inflammation of the retropharyngeal lymph nodes in this space. Symptoms include cervical pain, swelling andcontracture of the neck due to the inflammatory involvement of those muscles. It is difficult to elucidate the etiology of these symptoms among infants. Here we present the case of an infant who was admitted with a fever. We discuss this clinic entity and the management of this condition. |

ÖzetRetrofarengeal abse, süt çocuklarını ve küçük çocukları etkileyen, retrofarengeal alandaki lenf nodlarının iltihabı ile karakterize klinik bir durumdur. Kas yangısı sonucu gelişen boyun ağrısı, yutma güçlüğü ve göğüs hareketlerinde kısıtlılık gibi semptomlar görülür. Ancak süt çocukluğu döneminde bu semptomların saptanması oldukça güçtür. Bu yazıda ateş yüksekliği ile başvuran bir süt çocuğu olgusu sunulmuş, klinik durum ve yönetim tartışılmıştır. |
