AbstractTemporal arteritis is a granulomatous systemic vasculitis involving the middle and large arteries. Reactive thrombocytosis is often expected due to systemic inflammation in the active phase of the disease. Presence of thrombocytosis is a strong predictor of biopsy positivity and vascular damage. Here we present a case of temporal arteritis and refractory thrombocytopenia. |

ÖzetTemporal arterit orta ve büyük çaplı arterleri tutan granülomatoz sistemik bir vaskülittir. Hastalığın aktif döneminde sistemik inflamasyon nedeniyle sıklıkla reaktif trombositoz beklenen bulgudur. Trombositoz varlığının biyopsi pozitifliği ve damar hasarının güçlü bir ön gördürücüsü olduğu belirtilmektedir. Burada temporal arterit ve dirençli trombositopeni birlikteliği olan bir vaka sunulmaktadır. |
