AbstractMeningiomas arise from the meninges and they are the commonest benign intracranial tumour. One of the subgroup of meningiomas called as secretory meningiomas are seen rarely and development of the peritumoral edema is frequently observed. Although these tumours have non-spesific neurologic symptoms, they can be diagnosed easily with the radiological imaging tecniques. Secretory meningiomas usually tend localize to sphenoid bone and frontal region. Cystic changes or intratumoral calcification is not common. We are presenting a 48 years old female who has an extra axial intracranial tumour with a cystic component and resulting peritumoral edema. Our aim is demonstration of the diagnostic confusion of cystic meningiomas with other extra axial intracranial tumours. |

ÖzetMenengiomlar meninkslerden kaynaklanır ve en sık intrakranial benign tümörlerdir. Sekretuar menengiomlar, menengiomların nadir görülen alt tiplerinden biridir ve lezyona komşu parankimde ödeme neden olma eğilimindedir. Bu tümörler karakteristik olmayan semptomlar ile kendini gösterir. Radyolojik incelemelerle tanısı kolayca konulabilir.Sekretuar menengiomlar sfenoid kemik ve frontal bölgede yerleşme eğilimindedir. Kistik değişiklikler ve lezyon içi kalsifikasyonlar bu tümörlerde sık değildir. 48 yaşında bayan olgumuz ekstraaksiyel kistik komponenti bulunan lezyon nedeni ile tetkik edildi. Sunumumuzun amacı intrakranial ekstraaksiyel kistik komponenti bulunan bir kitle varlığında ayırıcı tanıda menengiomların da bulunması gerektiğini göstermektir. |
