AbstractAccessory navicular bone is the most common accessory bone among Turkish population. In the literature 3 types of accessory navicular bone have been defined. It is usually asymptomatic and causes no complaints. However, trauma, foot sprain or chronic stress may cause symptoms and it can interfere with fracture. Type 2 accessory navicular bone is the most symptomatic type. Various imaging methods are substantial for differantial diagnosis. Hereby, we present a patient with type 2 accessory navicular bone in a 46-year-old woman presenting with a history of trauma and fracture detected by multi-slice computed tomography (CT). |

ÖzetAksesuar naviküler kemik, Türk toplumunda, ayakta en sık görülen aksesuar kemiktir. Literatürde üç tipi tanımlanmıştır. Genellikle asemptomatiktirler ve hiçbir şikayete neden olmazlar. Ancak, travma, ayak burkulması ya da kronik stres sonucu semptomatik hale gelirler ve kırık ile karışabilirler. Tip 2 aksesuar naviküler kemik, en sık semptomatik olan tiptir. Farklı görüntüleme yöntemleri tanıda önemlidir. Biz burada, travma öyküsüyle başvuran ve fraktür ön tanısıyla çok kesitli blgisayarlı tomografi (BT) çekilerek tip 2 aksesuar naviküler kemik saptanan 46 yaşındaki bayan hastayı sunuyoruz. |
