AbstractSchwannomas are nevre sheath tumors originating from Schwann cells ( neural crest) of neural tissue and usually known to have benign behaviour. Although they are usually found on acoustic nevre or peripheral nerves, rarely they can be encountered in gastrointestinal system. Their colorectal presence is extremely rare. Diagnosis is made by immunohistochemical studies and golden Standard treatment is surgical resection. Herein, we aimed to report a case with rectal schwannom, its treatment with a brief review of the literature. |

ÖzetSchwannomlar, sinir kılıflarındaki Schwann hücrelerinden (nöral krest) köken alan, genellikle benign kabul edilen tümörlerdir. Çoğunlukla akustik sinir ve periferik sinir yerleşimli rastlansa da nadiren sindirim sisteminde görülebilirler. Kolorektal yerleşimleri ise oldukça nadirdir. Kesin tanı immunohistokimyasal inceleme ile konur ve tedavide altın standart yöntem cerrahi eksizyondur. Burada rektal schwannom tespit edilen hastamızı ve tedavisini, literatürün kısa bir değerlendirmesiyle birlikte sunmayı amaçladık. |
