AbstractEsophageal perforation is a surgical emergency associated with high morbidity and mortality. The most common cause of esophageal perforation is instrumentation. Transesophageal echocardiography is a very reliable method increasingly used in cardiology, cardiac surgery and intensive care because it is an accurate and semi-invasive technique. A rare but dreadful complication of this procedure is perforation of the esophagus. Although surgical management is the preferred therapy for most episodes of esophageal perforation, some patients are not candidates for extensive surgical procedures. Endoscopic therapy is advantageous in these critically ill patients. Endoscopic clips can be used for this purpose. Minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of esophageal injury in the near future will be used more frequently. |

ÖzetÖzofageal perforasyon yüksek morbidite ve mortaliteyle birlikte olan acil bir durumdur. En sık sebebi enstrümantasyondur. Transözofageal ekokardiyografi, kardiyoloji, kalp cerrahisi ve yoğun bakım ünitelerinde kullanımı giderek artan semi-invaziv güvenilir bir yöntemdir. Bu prosedürün nadir ancak korkutucu komplikasyonu özofagus perforasyonudur. Cerrahi tedavi, özofagus perforasyonu için çoğu bölüm tarafından tercih edilen tedavi olmasına rağmen, bazı hastalar geniş cerrahi işlemler için aday değildir. Bu kritik hastalarda endoskopik tedavi uygulanabilmesi bir avantajdır. Endoskopik klipsler bu amaçla kullanılabilir. Minimal invaziv teknikler özofagus yaralanması tedavisinde önümüzdeki dönemde daha sıklıkla kullanılacaktır. |
