AbstractLaryngeal tuberculosis is the most common granulomatous inflammatory disease of the larynx. Today, laryngeal tuberculosis constitutes fewer than 1% of all cases with tuberculosis. In our case, laryngeal examination of a patient who presented with painful swallowing and hollowness in the voice, showed complete destruction of the epiglottis. A biopsy was initially suspicious for carcinoma of the larynx. The additional detection of a granulomatous reaction with the presence of acid fast bacilli in the sputum of the patient led to a diagnosis of laryngeal tuberculosis. This case study illustrates that tuberculosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of laryngeal masses. |

ÖzetLaringeal tüberküloz, larinksin en sık granülomatöz enflamasyonudur. Günümüzde tüberkülozun laringeal tutulumu tüm tüberküloz olgularının %1'inden daha azdır.Vakamızda ağrılı yutma, seste boğukluk şikâyeti olan hastanın larinks muayenesinde epiglotu tamamen destrükteydi.Larinks karsinomu ön tanısı ile yapılan biyopsi sonucunda granülomatöz reaksiyon tespit edilen hastanın balgamında aside dirençli basil bulunması sonucu larinks tüberkülozu tanısı kondu. Sonuç olarak larengeal kitlelerin ayırıcı tanısında mutlaka tüberkülozda akılda tutulmalıdır |
